“C.W. Stessman Liberty Invitational Basketball Tournament” to be televised throughout Kansas City Metro
Local high school basketball fans will have an opportunity to watch one of the premier boys basketball tournaments in the state coming up in January.
The Liberty Public Schools Cable TV Station, KLPS-TV Channel 18, will provide LIVE wall-to-wall coverage of the Liberty Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament for a 4th consecutive year. But new this year will be that all twelve games of the tournament will be simulcast on Time Warner Cable Channel 5 in the Kansas City Metro area, making games available for fans from all teams competing who have Time Warner Cable Service.
“We’re really pleased to be able to showcase our broadcasting program here in Liberty and also showcase one of the best basketball tournaments in the state at the same time,” commented Dallas Ackerman, KLPS announcer.
“With the field consisting of teams ranging in locations from Leavenworth to Olathe to Lee’s Summit, we wanted to come up with a great option for fans that wanted to follow their teams but couldn’t make the trip to Liberty and I think we’ve done that.”
This years tournament begins on Tuesday, January 19th with games at 4pm, 5:30pm, 7pm, and 8:30pm. Day 2 action resumes on Thursday, January 21st with four more games at the same times with the final slate of four games set for Friday, January 22nd all culminating with the championship game at 8:30pm.
Along with the games being shown on Time Warner Cable Channel 5, all games will also be offered on the internet at the Channel 18 website (www.klpstv.com).
