Head Coach Roger Stirtz and the Liberty Men's Basketball program are excited to announce they will participate in the 2009 Hy-Vee Shootout at Avila University, presented by Metro Sports.
The 2009 game, which will take place on December 19th at 11:30am, will match Liberty against perennial Kansas power Blue Valley West High School.
The last time that Liberty faced a team from Blue Valley was in the 2008 shootout when the Jays faced the Huskies of Blue Valley Northwest. That game saw the Jays hold BVNW to 27% shooting and walk away with a 49-33 win at the Hy-Vee Shootout.
Last season's schedule saw the Jays post a 23-6 record with the 6 losses coming to teams with a combined record of 132-15. The Jays played against a State Champion (Fayetteville), two State runner ups (Grandview, Kearney) and a Third Place team (Columbia Rockbridge).
Always playing a tough schedule, the Jays are looking forward to the challenges of the 2009-2010 schedule!
